Hello,

I am researching webcams for my pc @ home. I am noticing
that most of the ones I am interested in are "USB 1.1"
I have a new system and I do believe that I have USB 2.0
ports. Now will an accessory with 1.1 work on a system
with 2.0?

looking for a little insight, and if at all possible any
links that I can click onto

Thanks

YES- Larry
Any advise is my attempt to contribute more than I have received but I can only assure you that it works on my PC. GOOD LUCK.

USB 2.0 is fully backward compatible with 1.0 and 1.1
versions of USB, but only at the slower speeds supported by
the device.

If you buy a webcam, try to find a USB 2.0 cam because it
will have faster performance. But remember, even on a cable
modem, your bandwidth is limited, you won't have TV quality
video and sound and you may be limited to 240x320 to not
more than 480x640 if you want a decent refresh rate.

But if you think you might be using webcams on a LAN, you'd
have the bandwidth to support the USB 2.0 cam.

I am interested what s/w people are using for their web

I mainly use MSN Messenger but for live video feed or just snapshot, I like
TinCam.
