webcams with built in microphones (logitech quickcam express)

Have installed the camera successfully but am unable to get the microphone to
pick up and sound. when chatting, I am unable to use the audio function
because it isn't working right.
 
select the correct mic

control panel, sounds and.., audio tab, see dropbox for mic.
