I have been given a D-link webcam (NetQam Dual 350 plus) It's a bit old but includes the software. when I tried installing the software it came back with the message ' not compatable with this version of windows' I am running xp pro sp1. I contacted the website (manufacturers) for the download but it still did not work. The pc reckognises the webcam with the install hardware wizard and uses the software from D-Link website, but when I open control panel there is no icon for the camera. I am using a usb connection and the camera powers up ok. Thanks in advance if anyone can help me.Pete

You can try running the software in Compatibility Mode. See XP's Help &
Support for details. Otherwise, I guess you'll need to accept that the
software is too old and incompatible for XP. You might want to Google
for webcam software that might work with your device.

Did the website have XP drivers for the webcam? Try removing all
Camera Software from Add/Remove
Programs in Control Panel. Disconnect all USB devices. Restart and
let XP load without it. Rt click on MyComputer>select
Properties>Hardware>Device Manager>USB Controllers. rt click on each one
and choose uninstall. Then restart and let XP reload them
again and install the camera software then reconnect the camera.

Were they XP drivers or just updated drivers?
