Webcam crases with YAHOO

If I try to start my webcam for use with Yahoo, Yahoo freezes,a dn doesn't
resopnd - It then has to be crashed to turn it off

I have tried the fix with "regedit" as prescribed by Yahoo, but still no joy.

This is happening with 2 different webcams, it is fine on MSN and other web
based programms, it's just Yahoo ( where all my friends are!!)

I have uninstalled and installed yahoo, Version 7 and the Beta - but Now I'm
stuck.

Please, anyone got any ideas?

You have already tried the registry fix published by Yahoo! but that
didn't help you,so contact Yahoo! Customer Care.

Frank, thanks so much for this. Trillian works like a charm. I'm still a
little annoyed as I am going to have to pay for the Pro version after the
trial to use what should be standard Yahoo functionality, so if anyone has
any other ideas, please let me know, but at least I can use the webcam
through this.

Thanks again Frank

I tried to contack Customer Care and they were far from caring!!! - All I
received was an "Auto-Reply" linking me to the standard help pages - not very
useful - Thanks for the tip though

Tom, are you running the beta Yahoo chat client version, or did you opt
to stay on the known, current, safe version? I stayed on the old
version and my webcam which is a logitech one has no problem with Yahoo
IM. See, Yahoo has much more respect for it's end users because it
first asks before installing beta versions of it's software on your
computer. Unlike us at Microsoft. We force our beta DRM spyware down
your throat whenever possible. We also make sure it is not easy it
uninstall.

Anyway, back to your problem (now that you know that we piss off so many
unsuspecting paying customers and don't care), I would recommend
uninstalling the beta version, reboot and reinstall the old version.
Best of luck to ya!
