Webbased newsreading? Only groups.google.com?

First, i reed the news with a standalone application. Then i discovered
groups.google.com. A very easy way to read the news on several
computers (my desktop, my laptop, in the library etc). But i heard that
the disadvantage of groups.google is that the topic 'is broken' -> a
reply doesn't quote the older posts & the structure of the messages
isn't complete anymore!

Is that right? I can't check it ... someone with Xananews or something
like that can tell me. Are there better ways to read the news webbased?

Xananews is not a web-based newsreader. It is a highly user-friendly
standalone newsreader application. The messagebase must be downloaded
to the computer for it to assemble the tree structure.

Google Groups does have somewhat of a tree structure but it is very
difficult to follow the natural conversation order. The only
advantages of G2 are message archiving and access from any browser.
