Web site graphics won't auto-load

I recently upgraded to IE 6.0 from 5.0 and ever since then
I have to constantly, at most web sites, use the encoding
feature to manually select "Western European (Windows)" to
get the graphics to load. Auto Select will not do the job
and I'm looking for a way to permanently set the encoding
to Weastern European. Or if there is another setting
somewhere that I can use to get the graphics to load every
time, I would greatly appreciate some direction in how to
fix this anoying problem. Thanks for any help out there.

I carefully followed the instructions in the article you
suggested and it had no effect on my problem at all, the
imagess at most websites still will not load. I hope
there are some more ideas out there to solve this nagging
problem.
