Web shortcuts and Address toolbar problems.

Hello all,
I wonder if anyone can help, I have many web shortcuts on
my quick launch bar and also have the address toolbar
enabled on my desktop.

Just the other day for no reason they have both stopped
working, if I click one of the web shortcuts or type an
address in the address toolbar and press enter I recieve
the following error;

'The file does not have a program associated with it for
performing this action. Create an association in the
folder options control panel'

If I would normally recieve that error I would know to
either create the association for the concerned file, but
as these are both related to web addresses,I'm totally
lost!

Any help is greatly appreciated.
