Is ISA's web proxy service and firewall service is a part of windows CAL? can you refer a MS KB for this

regards

Mark

ISA is server license only. It does not require licenses for end-users
connecting to internet thru ISA server.

CAL for Windows 2000 server is required if ISA server is also doing
something else which needs licenses (i.e. file serving).

Thanks for the reply. I am planning to install ISA server to new Box using
Windows 2003 server. But I have exisiting 2000 Domain that have Windows 2000
CAL. If I will install Windows 2003 OS to new box, join to exisiting domain
as a member server. will I be violating MS licensing?

Mark

Not that I am Licensing expert, but as far as I know, this should not be a
violation as long as you have server licenses for ISA and Windows Server
2003.

thanks for your reply. Hope that someone from MS will see my message to
confirm about my inquiry.
Again, many thanks to you...
