Web page pictures not displayed

When you open a Web page, one or more pictures (graphics
or images) may not be displayed. Instead, a red X, or a
placeholder, may appear in place of the images.

I followed the instructiond from the internet explorer web
page, and problem not resolved.

Hi Ken, hope this helps

In IE, go to the Tools menu and select Internet Options.
Click on the Advanced tab.
Scroll down to the Multimedia section and make sure the box "Show Pictures" is
ticked.

It's possible the webpage has linked the images incorrectly, or they don't
actually exist in the place the webpage is pointing to. If your settings
are all correct and other images show on this page and/or other pages, I
would say that they are truly just broken images.

I am having a problem with not only pictures, but programs. For example, the following link was sent to me via email. http://www.jibjab.com/default.htm. The link opens, but it then invites you to click to play an animated video. When I click, a window opens showing "Loading" but then I get a placeholder, or whatever those little symbols in the upper left hand corner are indicating something was supposed to go there but didn't. If I check Properties for that unfilled window, I get http://atomfilms.shockwave.com/contentPlay/shockwave.jsp?id=this_land&preplay=1&ratingBar=off. I have tried everything under Internet Options to no avail. It will play on my computer at the office (also running XP Pro), but not at home. Can you think of anything else I could do?

Have you installed the Shockwave plugin for your browser?
