>WD SATA can't be seen<

I have an MK8M800 Chaintech mobo that is unable to recognize a newly
purchased WD SATA 250gig HD that I'm trying to use as storage. During
bootups it hasn't seen the HD on either of the 2 connections that I have.
I've gone all thru the BIOS... I.E., Made sure that PnP is set to "No".
I've gone into (Intergrated Peripherals) to (VIA Onchip IDE Device) to
(SATA Mode)... There, I have the options of IDE or RAID. I've changed
it to RAID w/no success. - - -
I've been scouring the Net trying to find out
what needs to be done and have run across that drivers ?maybe? needed
& to use F6 to get this done via floppy... as suggested by this person
who seems to have gone thru something similarI haven't the faintest idea what drivers to look for & also my board
doesn't support floppy drives and I would really NOT prefer to go thru
the changes of connecting one externally. I've also run across suggestions
of updating the BIOS. I was under the impression that once the necessary
changes were made in the BIOS that nothing else further was needed.- -

AnYoNe out there have AnY suggestions At aLL??

Are you stating that the hardware does not see the drive?

If the hardware does not see the drive in the System BIOS - that's a
hardware issue and you should contact the manufacturer of the hardware
(Chaintech you stated) in that case.
