WD Caviar.. special Ed?

Recived my new harddrive through the post today. A Western Digital Caviar
160GB. What I would like to know is how do I tell it is in fact the special
edition version and not the normal one. Are there any labels I should look
for, or can I tell by the serial number.
The model number is WD1600JB - 00EVA0

Thank you.

That JB in the model number is the important bit.

The standard one has a BB there.

The "JB" suffix indicates that it's a Special Edition drive. (BB would
indicate a lesser drive with 2 MB cache.)

Oddly, the WD web page (www.wdc.com) doesn't list a 160 GB SE part.
However, Newegg offers one for sale.

HTH.
