WAV files in PPT presentations.

The task...
I am a teacher and am trying to produce training resources for remote
business trainees. This will involve a series of animated ppt slides with
attached audio using .wav files created with a recorder.

What I am trying to do is this..
1. As each slide comes up I want the audio file to commence playing
automatically.
2. As this audio file is playing, I want the slide to animate automatically
at set timings that I put in.
3. Each slide is changed manually either forward or backward using action
buttons

I have p/point 2000
I have and will use the security pack by Shyam Pillai
I also have Shyam Pillai's music span.

The problem....
1. If I simply insert the audio file.. ie. Insert... Movies and
sound....Sound from file, I cannot get it to play.
2. If I use ... Insert ....Object .....Media Clip I am required to animate
the object for it to play, and then the slide text etc will not start to
animate until the audio had finished.
3. I tried music span and that works fantastic until I pack it at which
point it no longer plays the audio.

In ALL instances I have insured the WAV files are in the same directory as
the PPT presentation.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Rob,

3) If you pack and go (I'm assuming you are using the powerpoint viewer), then music span will not work. Any add-in
will not work with the powerpoint viewer.

See this page for how to get sound to play over several slides
Play sounds across multiple slides (A WAV runs through it)
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00047.htm

2) See (3) above

Thank you for the response, however I have already been down this path...
see my point 3 under THE PROBLEM heading.

Did you read the whole page that TAJ recommended? Only the first paragraphs
are about Music Span.

I think that the issue is that you have solved each problem separately, but the
solutions don't work together.

If SecurePack utilizes the PowerPoint Viewer then Music Span will not work
because the Viewer does not support VBA, Macros or ActiveX controls. My
suggestion is that you drop the use of Music Span.

To play a WAV across multiple slides, read further in the link at
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00047.htm. You need to use Insert > Movies
and Sounds > Sound from File. Then you need to set the sound file to *Not*
pause the slide show, but instead play across multiple slides.
