how can I left justify a watermark in Word 2003 - only seems to want
to center

A watermark is nothing more than a picture or WordArt whose anchor
(http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/AnchorToHeader.htm) is in the header. To
reposition it:

- Double-click in the header area to open the header pane.
- Right-click in the watermark and choose "Format Picture" or "Format
WordArt".
- In the dialog, click the Layout tab and select the Left option under
Horizontal Alignment.

Text watermarks are centred on the page. If you want a 'watermark' anywhere
else, insert a pale graphic behind the text in the header and drag it where
you want. Text watermarks are created from WordArt. You can manually
recreate a text watermark from Word Art idf that is what you need.
