watermarking detector wanted

Bob Arctor

hi
in my paranoia i think music stores online that are selling digital music
are watermarking ALL the content writing in it "Bob Arctor bought this in
sept 23, 2004" "James Fingerton bought this in may 10, 2003" and so on ...
I understand this, but i want to KNOW it.

So, is there some recursive scanning software that allows to detect if wma,
mpc, aac, mp3, mp4, ogg, wma or any other music or video format is digitally
watermarked or "steganographed" ... ?

thanks for your attention

All mp3's phone home when played, typically to the recording artist's
landline with a CC to their lawyer.
An ordinary software firewall should be sufficient for your needs.

Zone Alarm have enhanced their product recently to give added protection
to those who download mp3's from usenet in yenc format.

this is not a scanning software that tells if an mp3 or other format is
watermarked or not.

if i make an mp3 it's not watermarked.
if i take a watermarked file and i put it next to my file, i look for a
software that scans this folder and tells "this is watermarked, this is NOT
watermarked ... " and so on

A recent enhancement to the mp3 format has also enabled the sending of
an automatic alert to the local police station.

have you a link for this news?

and another time: is there a scanner for mp3 with these "enhancements" , for
non-standard mp3 ?

watermarked or DRM-encapsulated ...?
