Wasn't google going to be flagging search results containing malware?

Maybe I'm not doing the right searches, but I haven't seen any warning
indicators or icons next to search results containing known exploits
or malware.

Wasn't google going to impliment something like that? Are they?

I think you mixed up two things.
SiteAdvisor has been bought by McAfee and has nothing to do with Google.
It only shows when a site in a search on Google (or MSN or Yahoo) is
potentially dangerous. It's a fine program, I think, but not related to
Google.

The other thing is Google announcing warning for badware, using
information from http://www.stopbadware.org/
Thas was pretty big news, but I didn't see any result of it yet.

Whoops, you're right of course - senior moment!! It's just that you only
ever see it in google

just a heads up, i apparently did one of the *right* searches just now
and the first hit took me to this page
http://www.google.ca/interstitial?url=http://www.plyrics.com/lyrics/nofx/shesnubs.html

just so folks know that google is working on getting that up and
running (i have no idea how long it will take to get thorough coverage)
and so that people can see what it looks like when there is a warning
from google... you don't see the warning in the results page, by the
way, only when you click on the results, so it's not that much like
siteadvisor...
