washing away effect

I was just watching an old (1939) movie and they had a fascinating effect in
the opening titles. They were shown to be in the rain and they would wash
away downwards. This was not a wipe effect, but rather like the text
dissolving and coming down in various streams, a little like water
dissolving a soluble painting away.

Can something like that be done in PowerPoint?

Jeff

Pretty sure not of the narive exit effects will do this bou you couls.

Save the slide asa png file (save as then choose type PNG - current slide
only)
remember where its saved

Remove the title and save as another PNG

new slide > FORMAT >Background > in the drop down >FILL EFFECTS > PICTURE
Insert your PNG file

Now over the bacground place suitable shaped "drops"

Use format autoshape to set the fill to background line to none abnd animate
these (combined with an appearance of the modified picture without the title
in front of the background.)

Sorry its complicated Hope it makes sense

It is clear. I was hoping there was a 'ready made' effect because it was
quite dramatic.

It was not quite drops of water. More like rivers of dissolved text running
down.

Ah well. Would have been nice.

Thanks for answering.

Jeff
