Looking for really, honestly good PowerPoint examples

I've been up and down the net looking for a presentation that makes me say "I
didn't know PowerPoint was capable of that. The effects are almost movie-
like!" There seems to be no specific website that hosts such examples, but
even if there was some presentation floating around the net that has blown
people away and serves as a standard that any PowerPoint developer would love
to reach, I'd like to see it.

Whenever I go to a website that claims to be amazing, or professional, or on
the cutting edge, I instead find sites like these:

http://www.freewebs.com/pptheaven/animations.html
http://kristofcreative.com/portfolio/multimedia/powerpoint/design.shtml

Ovation had some interesting effects:
http://www.seriousmagic.com/products/presentations/great-powerpoint-backgrounds.cfm

But you need Ovation to play the presentation, and the original PowerPoint
files become unusable in PowerPoint again. It has the dynamic effects that I
am looking for, but it's usability is nil.

The presentation has to be compatable with at least PP2003 and there should
be no third-party plugins if possible.

Is there such a thing as a really great powerpoint presentation???? I'm
beginning to wonder...

Honestly speaking, if you are looking for effects that looks as cool as what
you've in the movie, I don't think you can create something like that in
PowerPoint.
You will need external products that are able to render PowerPoint into
something different.

If you are looking to create a pure presentation using PowerPoint that looks
exactly like how Ovation/OfficeFx works, then there isn't one.

I think the problem is that most sites contain examples of portions of
presentations, tutorials that only cover one specific topic, etc. There are
not many full presentations anywhere. Because of need to abide by client IP
(intellectual property), size of file (many of my graphic and animation
intense presentations can be 100-200+ MBs - and that is using optimized
graphics), or just a lack of time/desire to post.

That being said; I have had tremendous response for large venue
presentations created with OfficeFX Professional (www.instanteffects.com).
And the presentation remains a natively usable PPT file (although it ignores
the custom transitions, 3D motion backgrounds, etc. when OFX is not
installed).

There are a samples scattered around my website (www.tlccreative.com). Again
all are just portions of presentations so the big picture of all that was
done to create an immersive environment is not there.

Glen Miller has some great examples, but the same applies to the content not
conveying the entire project (http://www.pptworkbench.com).

I have been impressed with some of what I have seen on Tohlz website
(http://www.freewebs.com/pptheaven/index.html).

The classic would be Taj's presentation sample built in PPT 2000
(http://www.awesomebackgrounds.com/powerpointtips.htm), which a number of
years ago his original animation sample presentation opened my eyes to the
animation possibilities that could be accomplished in PPT.

And there are many others. So take what you find, use your presentation
skills, apply to a project and develop a presentation that provides a huge
WOW factor to the audience and truly adds value to the speaker's stage
presence.

Hi,

Troy is right. We all have short bits of larger presentations. I must admit
I keep the better material for live presentations. Like PowerPoint Live.

Which sparks an idea ;-)

There is a lot of stuff that you can do with VBA in PowerPoint. Usually,
when I present fairly simple things (like self-grading quizzes), people are
blown away and say "I didn't know PowerPoint could do that." However, none
of my examples involve fancy graphical and animation effects. They are all
very simple to demonstrate concepts.
