Washed the ink holder in water

Hi,

I have SmartBase MPC600F Canon Printer and I washed the ink holder in water.

Now, it shows wrong cartridges on the screen and would not print at all.

I use Win98SE.

Bear in mind water will corrode any copper contacts, ensure the holde
is completely dry

You should never use tap water on any part of the printer, if you mus
use water then ensure it is distilled or boiled, a better bet is t
use the proper cartridge cleaning fluid

What was the reasons for cleaning it and what was the original fault

If you washed the ink holder, it also contains the electronics for th
ink jets and if you replaced it while still wet then you shorted ou
the printer electronics. A print head replacement might fix you
problem but, I don't think so. I did the same thing years ago an
was never able to get the printer to work properly after that

It seems that only the tinkerers have these kind of problem. Most of
the mainstream Printer owners who use OEM ink and just print docs and
photos seem to have far less problem. One only has to read the posts
here for a period of time.

It appears that you need a modern computer with an up to date OS and a
new Canon Pixma printer and use OEM ink. You should not have problems
for a long time.

Tinkerers=problem is not true. Many home refillers that use quality goods
and take care do have good results. Yes some are futz up their printer not
knowing what they are doing, bu not all.

Measkite, how would you know about how well refilling works if you always
use OEM? Besides, I know you would need a bank of >10 printers (per your
own comments) to get any good statistical results. In the absence of the
data, I conclude that
you are a troll
you have a brain clog
your focus on clogging is a misdirection of your own problem
your rectum is blocked
you can't type in lower case except upon rare occasions

ought to take his own advice other than the fact that he can't read nor

I have. And what I say is true. Those that use a good brand of ink, and
properly refill, or a use a good brand of pre/refilled, and properly
maintain and use their printer will get reults that practiccally equal OEM.

Those that choose poor, misformulated, the wrong formulation, and/or don't
maintain their printer, will likely have problems. Heck even OEM ink on a
mistreated printer can be troublesome.
