One thing to consider before you go too much further, though, is that more
and
:more viewers have popups disabled by default. I use the google toolbar to
do
:this. So I can easily enable popups for a specific page when I need to. But
:a viewer might not think to do this, and I'm not sure all popup disablers
:are so easy to override.

So, would the consensus be here that pop-ups, even when meant to show larger
pictures of products - and when though viewer chooses to click on a product,
is NOT a good idea - principally because many people have popups disabled.

I notice that even on large wholesalers sites, some use popups, some don't.
Yet, I suppose it makes sense to code safer than be sorry down the road -
particularly if working with hundreds of products. Maybe popups really
aren't the best idea after all . . .

I'd appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks for reading,

there is a good script/ article at www.sitepoint.com called "perfect pop-up"
that would be great.
if the viewer has pop-up blocker or JavaScript turned off it just opens it
in a new window. the best part is FrontPage is able to update the links if
you rename files and stuff.
generally, decent pop-up blockers only block if the user didn't click but
it's hit or miss. you can't go wrong with the above mentioned tut/ script.

What a nice article, Chris, thanks for letting me know about it.
It's a keeper...

sure is. I'm looking at setting up and modifying it a little bit so I can
call it from the code snippet feature from fp 2003. so far in my
examination of 03 I'm most drawn to the code snippets.
