Warning: Mcafee virus scan screwed my PC

Hey anyone using mcafee virus scan with auto update
there is trouble ahead.

Using internet suite ver 7, auto update turned on a new version was
downloaded and installed on 19-1-06.
This new ver is version 10
build 10.0.27
engine 4400
dat ver 4677
created 18/1/06.

this piece of crap constantly says it is "installing" and prevents u from
restarting or shutting down pc.
I've stopped all the mcafee services running
killed all mcafee processes from task manager and uninstalled it.
Taking product back to store for a refund and installing something else.
Bastards!!!
Have had product about 4months and it has been a dog from day 1,
but this is the last straw! :-(

I haven't had a single problem with the program doing auto updates.
But I'm not using the entire suite.
