WARNING: fateback.com / BlazeFind.Bridge

Spyware: BlazeFind.Bridge
AKA: WinFavorites.Bridge
Installed by: fateback.com
Removed by: Spybot Search & Destroy RC5

I was checking the TFR Rotator links this morning as I was updating the code
and making a few modifications, and whilst doing so, one of the site's I
visited was Fort Freeware (or so I thought seing as how it was removed by
Dale).

It appears, fateback.com are being sneaky and installing spyware on the
computers that are used to visit a site hosted by fateback.com

Basically, because of this, my warning is simply, DO NOT visit any website
that contains fateback.com in their URL. If you have done and you get
infected, you can use Spybot Search & Destroy, to remove it.

Win98FE, IE5.5 - No problem here visiting those sites. Firewall log shows I
blocked Active-X and Javascript from fateback.com
And yes, I have checked with latest Spybot SD, AdAware, CWShredder.

I checked it 3 times and it installed BlazeFind.Bridge, on my PC each time
(I've got ActiveX and Javascript enabled, which probably explains why I got
infected and you didn't).

Checked with Spybot S&D RC5, and removed with same.

Win98SE, IE5.5

I don't have Ac-X or JS 'disabled' as such. But I do have a firewall that
prompts me whether I wish to allow/deny on a site by site basis. Usually I
deny, and find that most sites work well anyway. Much safer. Touch wood,
buggy as IE "supposedly" is, I have never ever had an episode with malware,
virii, trojans etc ........... long may it stay that way. <g>
