WARNING: DO NOT INSTALL OFFICE SP3

If you are running an Exchange Server, DO NOT INSTALL OFFICE SP3.

I have several computers on our network, all of which are running Outlook
2003 connecting to an Exchange Server 2003. There have been only two users
who have updated there programs to Office SP3. Immediately after doing so,
they can no longer enter a new event/appointment into their Outlook running
in "Cached Mode" and have it sync/push the new event up to the Exchange
Server. It simply disappears after a few seconds when it tries to sync.
When entering an event into Outlook while connected online or using Outlook
Web Access and not in “Cached Modeâ€, the event remains stored and will even
sync back to the laptop after you connect in “Cached Mode†again. There
seems to be a permissions problem with the “Cached Mode†.ost file
authenticating with the Exchange Server. Is there a workaround for this
problem? A registry setting that can be changed instead of uninstalling
Office completely and reinstalling back to SP2? The sync error message is
below.

Greg, I had problems with SP3 also. Since you can't uninstall it, I restored
the systems to a restore point previous to the SP3 install using System
Restore. I also, temporarily, disabled Audtomatic Windows Update.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I am hoping, though, to not have to
restore, or worse, reinstall Office on the computers on our nework that have
SP3. Has anybody found a solution to this problem?
