WAOL.EXE

I am a new Win 2000 user. When I clicked on AOL to close
out. Went to Shut down and the
End Progam box appeared with this message:
________________________
END PROGRAM - WAOL.EXE

Ending program ... please wait.

(bar with progress bar is grey)

If you choose to end the program immediately you will
loose any unsaved data. To end the program now, click End
Now.

When I click End Now everything is stuck, hung. I cannot
even power down.

What is this? My sister is having the same problem when
she tries to shut down in Win 2000, but without AOL.

What causes the END NOW box to appear and how does one
shutdown with it on when powering off does not work.

Thank you.

This problem is ofter because we can not unload our profile to logon the
current user.

We are trying to save and close your registry settings.

Before we shutdown the system stop all services on the machine and then try
to shutdown.

If this helps then we will have to try to shutdown when only one at a time
service is stopped.
In particlar I would try stopping the print spooler service and the ntry to
shutdown. There are several print drivers that are causing this problem.

If it is the spooler service causing this, delete your printers and
download the latest drivers for your printers and re-install them with the
new drivers.
