Want your XP to run better?

Check out http://www.iobit.com/ and download the SmartDefrag and
Advanced SystemCare, the free ones. You'll never use XP's defrag again
and not only does it do a better job, it will keep your computer
defragged by defragging while your computer is idle. When you do the
first defrag, choose Fast Optimize which will not only defrag the disk
but optimize it as well.

But wait... There's more! Download now and you also get...

[[ I think I have seen this late night infomercial. ;-) ]]

Unsolicited, unrelated product placement? Freeware or not - seems out of
place.

Huh? All I got were the programs. There's no advertising if that's what
you mean. Iobit is a reputable company and I've been using it for a
couple of years and my copy of XP runs like silk and boots up in less
than 48 seconds on an AMD XP Althon 3000+ with one gig of RAM.

No - I meant you posting the unsolicited, unrelated product placement. It
was not in response to any queries, it was not in relation to any answers
you were giving to anyone. It was you advertising a product - walking into
a room of people and saying it out loud. ;-)

I'm not downing the product (have no place to do that - haven't used it.)
Haven't seen you do such a thing before. :)

I was just sharing something I know about. I have no relation to Iobit

I would call it "Spam in disguise". This usually works by getting people to
download the basic product, which is free but lacks the really good
features, which cost money. Numerous products are marketed like this.
Nothing wrong with this approach but when you praise them in an unsolicited
post then it's obviously spam. Do you get a cut on every sale?

No, I don't get a cut and the free program has everything the paid for
program has. I'm surprised that you haven't heard about it, being that
you're an "MVP" and all. Did you even go to the web site before posting
your drivel? The only reason I posted this was because it's a good
program to keep your XP running like silk.

Now let's look at your claim calmly for a moment. Why would anyone *pay* for
the Advanced Version if the Freeware Version had the same features? I'm sure
Iobit is a reputable company but it needs to make money and it makes it by
selling the extra features of the Advanced Version, generously assisted by
your unsolicited advertising. If it was not in the business of making money
then it would give both the basic and the advanced product away, free of
charge.

I'm not going to argue with you. It's a great product and even defrags
your drive while the computer is idle and will defrag files that XP
cannot defrag. If you're not interested, butt out.

Why is it that idiots like you and "Pegasus" assume I am spamming when I
am only sharing? Not only is the defrag good, there is a memory manager
that makes sure programs release memory when closed. You're really
missing something and all you want to do is play net nanny. **** off,
both of you.

Of course you are not going to continue to argue when others say you are
posting SPAM and your posts are not wanted. In reality, 99.99997% of your
posts are not wanted. You just love making trouble even in the XP forum.
What's wrong? Feeling lonely? Too bad you don't have a car. You could
take a drive and get away from the computer for a few hours but you are
stuck.

Because you are a confirmed spammer. You have been for years and you won't
stop now. Usually you try and shove that INFERIOR Ubuntu down our throats.
You know, the Linux distro that NOBODY wants and doesn't run any of the
popular software programs out there?

You know, the Open Sores software that is free and is still on less than one
percent of the desktops.
