Want to View My Inbox and Another Person's Inbox in Same View

Just for informational purposes, I am running 2007 against Microsoft Exchange
Server 2003.

I have set up permissions in another person's inbox folder so that I can
monitor when they are out of town. Right now, you appear to have to go to
File->Open->[Person's Name] (Inbox) to view it in the pane to the right of
the navigation pane.

Is there a way (and if so, what is it) to be able to view both my inbox and
the other person's inbox in the same view much like you can choose to view
multiple calendars to which you have access in one 'view' (aka simply check
off My Calendars and People's Calendars you want to see in the pane to the
right of the navigation pane). Can I do something similar with multiple
inboxes?

Well that helps so that I can see both inboxes in my navigation pane but what
I was hoping to do is be able to split screen the right side of the pane (as
you can to see multiple calendars open at once) to see both inboxes open at
once. Is that possible?

On a separate note, how can I (or can I) enable an auto reply for the inbox
that I am 'not' the owner for? Seems auto replies should be a server based
thing, yet when I created an auto reply by normal means while viewing the
other person's inbox, the auto reply was instead applied to my account so it
appears if I can do this, the steps to do so are different than what I would
normally do for my own account. Can you help with this as well?

No, you cannot split the main Outlook window like that but you can of course
open it in a separate window. Right click on the folder and choose Open in
New Window.

In order to manage rules you must configure a separate mail profile with
that mailbox as the default mailbox. You must have permissions on the
mailbox granted by your mail admin. Delegate permissions is not enough.

On the split window, that's too bad. Granted it's a mere convenience but
very handy when you have to monitor more than one box at a time (the constant
visual of two open windows would help).

On the rules, I'm not sure I understand. Can I not just request that I be
added as an Editor to the other person's (call him Joe) existing mailbox? If
not, are you saying a new [corporate vs local] mail profile/account (Joe 2)
would have to be created on which I have permission that becomes the default
profile for receiving mails. What would be the purpose of the existing (Joe)
mail profile then? Note "Joe" has been set up to dump all incoming e-mails
into a personal local pst so other than receiving e-mail and calendaring
(well and corporate contacts), Joe doesn't even use that profile for managing
e-mails (or much else frankly). I think I'm just missing something here.
