want to uninstall xp home when i am running xp pro

My computer recently crashed and i tried various things
to fix it. it came with xp home. first i wanted to
install another copy of xp home in a different folder
because i was afraid i was gonna lose everything. so i
installed it to windows2 folder i created. but that
installation went wrong half way through so i backed out
of it. then i bought xp pro and started installing that
over my original windows folder (fresh installation).
that worked and i got into my computer and deleted that
windows2 folder that i created. however, whenever i
started the computer it would always ask me if i wanted
to run xp home or pro on the bootscreen. i figured out
how to make it so it doesnt ask me this, but i still feel
that there are unnecessary files from xp home on my
computer that i really want to get rid of. my hard disk
space is unreasonably low. i would appreciate it if
anyone knew how to uninstall that old copy of home to
free up some space (or if you have any other ideas to
free up space, other than add/remove programs).

Hi,

Your best bet is to reinstall your Windows XP Pro and do a clean install.
That means wiping all the contents of the hard drive so no traces of your
previous installation will remain.

Take your Windows XP Installation CD, and boot your computer off of the CD.

You may have to go into your BIOS to tell your computer to boot off your
cdrom.

Once it starts booting off the cd, this will startup the Windows XP
installation process.

During the process, it'll ask you where you want to install your Windows and
options are given if you want to delete the partition and format the hard
drive.

Choose the format hard drive option and continue the setup and you'll have a
fresh brand new install of Windows XP.
