hello everybody,
i am trying to clear up a friend's system. you know the drill, clear out
the viruses, get all 25 + updates, scan disk and defrag. they are running
windows me but when it starts up it tries to continue an xp home install.
how can i get rid of that? when the system first boots up the xp setup
option is the default, so if they don't select windows, it goes to the xp
home setup process. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Edit the BOOT.INI (Hidden/System/Read Only) file in the root of the C:\
drive and get rid of the option you don't need and make sure the option you
do need is default.

got it. thanks much.
