Windows XP Setup

I started a Windows XP setup to try to resolve a problem
on my wife's computer, but no longer need to complete
setup to fix the problem. Now when my wife starts her
computer it shows her the following:

Choose an operating system:
1. Windows XP Home Edition
2. Windows XP Setup

The highlight defaults on Setup, so if she starts her
computer unattended, Windows XP Setup starts in 3
seconds...it then gives a file error. If Home Edition is
chosen, the computer boots up normally.

My question is: how do I get rid of the Windows XP Setup
option at startup?

Boot to the OS. Use system properties, advanced, startup and recovery and
make sure that the OS you are booted to is set as the default. Set the
timeout value to zero. Next delete the temporary folders that setup
installed: $win_nt$.~ls and $win_nt$.~bs

You could also edit the boot.ini to remove the reference to the uncompleted
installation.
