Want to replace XP VLK with XP OEM

I currently have an XP Pro VLK edition on my PC and want to replace it
with an XP Pro OEM version that I purchased when I bought a new hard
disk. My question is: Can I just change the product key using the
keyfinder/changer by magic-jellyfish and then activate, or can I do some
other type of installation so as not to lose any of my current settings.
OR will I have to do a complete clean install from the OEM disk.
Thanks in advance

upgrade or if yopu dont have click new installation. Click next then insert

You need to perform a repair (a.k.a. in-place upgrade)
installation, using the new CD and Product Key.
