Want to put scanned image into word document

Someone please help. I have created a word document and want to put into it
a portion of a scanned image. I have successfully selected the portion of
the image that I want, but when I copy and paste, it then doesn't appear in
the document, just the dots do. When I managed to transfer the image one
time (and I haven't a clue how I managed it and haven't succeeded since!) I
then couldn't format the image or move it araound or size it. Please help me
I have to hand in this work on Tuesday and I'm in a panic! Many thanks

Open your Word document.

When you get to the area where you want to insert the photo from the
scanner,
select "Insert" from the toolbar. From the choices that drop down, chose
"Picture". From there you can chose the source of the picture, one of which
is "From Scanner or Camera". (Note: these instructions are using Word 2002
(Office XP).

A wierd one. I've been doing it from Office 97 right through to Office 2003
without any problems.
Each time, I just opened the image with any viewer, selected copy, then
rt-click pasted.

Perhaps the problem lies in the method used - "I have successfully selected
the portion of the image that I want", whatever that means.

I'd tend to recommend downloading Irfanview (free). With that, you can open
the full image, draw a box around the part required, go to Edit, Crop, then
copy the cropped result & paste that.
