Is it alright to install windows xp pro on a friends hard drive that I have
activated and if he has the sanme version will he be able to activate or
will he have to re install his copy? Quick answer would help me
tremendously! Thank you in advance!

That is kind of stupid. You change the key and you kill the activation for the next time for the original holder of the license

No you don't. You change the key before you activate. You have up to
30 days to activate.

Thank you for your input to my question. Instead of installing and leaving a
copy of my own operating system on my friends drive. Once I was able to
install my copy of operating system then I just formated the drive and give
drive back to the owner. He said he was able to set the drive up with his
operating system now? So all ends well. Thank you for your help and answers
to my questions!
