This is no longer the case. Windows Media Center Edition can now be readily
purchased.

That's odd, I coulda sworn someone said "The only way to get MCE is to buy a
PC that comes with it."
That'll come as quite a shock to all the folks that have already bought and
installed the OEM version on existing PCs. (yes I know of a number of them)
As long as the hardware meets MCE requirements it can be installed.
People go on about things about which they are uninformed but hey that's the
Internet.
