Wim

I work with Windows Xp Media Center Edition.
Yesterday I removed Antivirus 2009 with Malwarebytes.
Since then I cannot connect with the internet.
The system is very slow (I think it is constant trying to connect to the
internet).

another problem is that I can use 1 of 4 XP-accounts.

Sorry for my poor english.
Who can help me?

To be able to connect rry this:
Open a run command and type in:
ipconfig /flushdns click [OK]
ipconfig /renew click [OK]
netsh winsock reset click [OK]
Reboot your machine and see if you can connect.

Run a thorough scan by doing the following steps:
1... First, try to clean up your caches, Internet files and delete cookies
by doing this:
Click Start >> Control Panel >> Double click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options.
On the IE properties windows you will see these Tabs:

Advanced
Under General Tab clear your History, Internet Files and Cookies.
Then click on Advanced tab and scroll down to under the Browsing Option:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) uncheck this box.
Then click on Programs Tab and click Manage Add-Ons and Disable all non

Go into Safe Mode withNetworking.
Hopefully, you can get on the Net from there.
Then rescan with these 2 Programs and your AV.
Make sure you update Malwarebytes, etc, 1st

http://www.spybot.info/en/index.html

Spybot Search & Destroy 1.6 is a very good, FREE Anti-Spyware Program.
Download, install, update, and immunize your System with it.
Then SCAN with it.
Update it, and scan your System once a fortnight.

http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

Malwarebytes is as the name says, a Malware Remover!
For the Free version scroll down their page to either download from
Download.com, or Major Geeks.com

Download, install, and update.

Important re: Safe Mode
If you happen to find a problem that you can’t uninstall / delete, reboot
the computer, and go into Safe Mode.
To get into Safe mode, tap F8 right at Power On / Startup, and use UP arrow
key to get to Safe Mode from list of options, then hit ENTER.
RESCAN your computer with your Anti-Virus, Malwarebytes and Spybot S & D
while in Safe Mode.

If unable to install above Programs in Normal Mode:
Sometimes Trojans, Viruses, Malware, etc stop you installing and/or updating
Programs to remove them.
If that happens, reboot into Safe Mode with Networking (from F8 list of
Startup Options), and install, update and scan from there.

Mick,

I removed Antivirus 2009 by:
1: run Spybot
2. Run mbam - malwarebytes- (in safe mode)
Now:
In safe mode with Networking internet is working
When I start in normal mode Internet is still not working.

What can I do more?

Open Internet Options, Connections tab, click "Lan Settings" button,
deselect all.

For future reference, MBAM works best in Normal Mode.
SAS sometimes needs Safe Mode to completely remove what it finds.

Thanks,

After running spybot and mbam (in safe mode) i used serveral
antivirus-programs.
Antivirus-program Avast found the problem and removed it.
Everything is working fine now.
