Want custom toolbars (on taskbar) to be only one row high

A

Andy

My main blue taskbar at the bottom of the screen is set to be three
rows high which I did by dragging it to this size.

----

The standard Quick Launch toolbar is on my LOWEST ROW of three.

Application tabs appear on the TOP ROW and if that row is full they
spill over to the MIDDLE ROW.

----

In addition to the Quick Launch toolbar, I have a couple of personal
toolbars on the taskbar. These are deliberately squashed up so that
when I click the arrows next to the toolbar name, a menu pops up with
the toolbar's entries on it.

My problem is ...

....the custom toolbar's name & arrows are two rows high.

QUESTION: After unlocking the taskbar, how can I drag these custom
toolbars (or do something else) to make them only one row high?

The best I have found is to put the Quick Launch bar in the MIDDLE
ROW and then my custom toolbars will go into the single row below it.
But limits the application tabs to just the single row on TOP.

You know that you can create multiple taskbars on the desktop. Grab, hold
and drag one of the toolbars on the Start Menu Taskbar, and drag it to one
of the other edges on the desktop. Then release. A new taskbar will be
created, and then you can move other toolbars to that.

The only other way to arrange the current taskbar is to move each toolbar,
setup the group taskbar option and arrange as you are doing.

Please, this is very confusing, and it's important that the terminology be
correct, lest people get confused.

You can *not* create multiple Task Bars. Windows permits *one* Task Bar and
that's all. What you can create is multiple *Tool* Bars. The Quick Launch
Bar is an example of a Tool Bar.

Tool Bars reside on the Task Bar by Default. However they can be dragged off
the Task Bar (if it is first unlocked) and docked elsewhere on the desktop:
on another side or floating on the desktop.

As an aside, the Task Bar itself can also be dragged to another side of the
screen.

Mate, those are toolbars which are floating not taskbars.

But I want toolbars on the taskbar and to have them pop up a menu
when clicked. Those are the elements I can not arrange easily.
