Wan Miniport/Error 720: Could not agree on PPP control protocol

T

Tom

When I try to dial-up to the internet I get "Error 720:
Could not agree on PPP control protocol".

I went ahead and followed all the advice I could find on
the Microsoft website and found that I had several Wan
Miniport's under Network Adapters in my Device Manager. I
tried to uninstall but I get "Failed to uninstall device.
It may be required to boot up computer."

I then tried to delete Wan Miniport from my registry but
continued to get the same problem. I've tried uninstalling
the Wan Miniport's in Safe Mode, tried deleting their
drivers, and so on but I keep getting the same error. I
would be SO grateful if someone could help me out with my
problem because I can no longer be on the internet at all
at home. :(

Thanks,
Tom
