Defender cleaned a trojan which changed my desktop, now I can't change the
wallpaper or browse for new wallpaper. Any suggestions?

Defender is not much good at removing anything, properly or not.

Use the 2 programs below to scan your computer, in Safe Mode if necessary,
to remove the problem.

Spybot Search & Destroy 1.6 is a very good, FREE Anti-Spyware Program.
Download, install, update, and immunize your System with it.
Then SCAN with it.
Update it, and scan your System once a fortnight.

Malwarebytes is as the name says, a Malware Remover!
For the Free version scroll down their page to either download from
Download.com, or Major Geeks.com

Download, install, and update.

Important re: Safe Mode
If you happen to find a problem that you can’t uninstall / delete, reboot
the computer, and go into Safe Mode.
To get into Safe mode, tap F8 right at Power On / Startup, and use UP arrow
key to get to Safe Mode from list of options, then hit ENTER.
RESCAN your computer with your Anti-Virus, Malwarebytes and Spybot S & D
while in Safe Mode.

Thanks for your response. Followed directions, but result is "administrator
has disabled registry edit". Where do I reset Admin Settings?

Desktop wallpaper can be accessed via the graphics card in Control Panel, and
adjusted or changed from the tabs.

That "Mick Murphy" is just a spoofer; just ignore it.
It hates that!
It was using AIOE, but that is finished, so it is using a Hotmail account,
to sign into the MS servers here.
It has been spoofing me for months. I’ve even considered it might be NASS.

Here are the posting details of "it" and myself.
I think you will see the difference; and "it" joined here on the 5th, Jan,
2009!!!!!!!
