wake up

After not using my computer for awhile, couple hours or over nite, I cannot
wake it up using mouse or keyboard...I did not put it in sleep mode or
anything else, just walked away from it for awhile and then I have to shut it
down and restart in safe mode, it is so annoying, I have Vista 32. Please
advise. Thanks

Go to Advance Power Settings.
Set hard drive to turn off a minute or 2 before sleep.
Set Hybrid and Hibernate modes to "Off"
Under USB settings select "Disable"
Under Multimedia select "Allow ....."

I have a new Dell Inspiration 530 and was experiencing the same problem. I
Set the power options to never sleep, Hard drive never sleep etc. but in the
morning it was like trying to wake up my teenage son, no avail.

In one of the threads someone mentioned updating the bios. I went to the
dell site and downloaded and installed a newer update and now the problem
seems to be solved.

I haven't had time to experiment with the power settings to activate sleep
mode since I have updated bios.

Hope this helps
