Wake-up mouse sensitivity - can it be reduced? My kid keeps jumping!

My XP PC keeps waking up when people (especially my 3-year-old) walk
around and vibrate the floor, presumably moving the mouse a pixel or
two. Can this be adjusted? I mean, can you make it need a real 'swipe'
over the mouse mat to wake up?

When you're not using the computer, turn the mouse over and let it rest on
its back.
 
Ken - LOL why didn't think of that!?

But if I shine a flashlight at it, it comes back on! I will try it
tonight with the lights. Maybe I will need to put a box over it:)

A non-issue.
 
LOL He didn't say it was not important, only that it did not even rank as an
issue!! Does that mean it is neither trivial nor important? Technically, is
that the same thing? And all this from someone who walks among the olive
trees (or was that Socrates?).
 
Bob - I can't see anything in the control panel for the power options
to disable this. Where is that setting?
