WAB notification

Everytime I shut down windows, I recive this error "WAB notofication window"
how can I stop this ?

Hi,
WAB is the Windows Address Book. A google groups search turned up these
possibilities:
1. Close Outlook or Outlook Express before shutting down.
2. A virus or worm may be accessing the Address Book. Update your antivirus
application and run a full system scan.
Some of the free AV programs are listed at

Hi, I did what you suggested, no virus or worms were found on computer. I
always shut all my programs before exiting.
I am still getting the same error message when I shut down.
Any other ideas ?
Also I don't even use Outlook Express.
How can I stop message coming ?

Yes, I use Outlook 2003

I ended up disabling all startup items in MSCONFIG and then enabling what I
need and that casued error to go.

I don't know if this is a good solution ? what do you think ?

That's an excellent troubleshooting step. You might try re-enabling those
items one or two at a time to find out which specific program is the
culprit. Search Google to identify unknown or suspicious startup entries.

Have you run some malware (spyware, trojan, hijacker) checks, with (at
least) Ad-aware?
