W2K Server Issue

I'm hoping someone can throw some light on this issue?

W2K Server, changed Admin password and all appeared to be OK. Then realised
I had to change the BackupExec services password as these were using the
admin account.

If I open an individual service and attempt to change the password the MMC
hangs when I hit 'apply'. Similarly if I attempt to manually start the
service the same things happen.

Tried a similar task on other non-BackupExec services i.e. McAfee VirusScan
and the same things happen.

There is nothing reported in the event log aside from the logon failure of
the BackupExec services, and in all other respects the server runs normally,
it takes an age to start.

This seems to be a more generic issue than Backupexec and in the absence of
any errors I don't know where to start.

Any help or suggestions appreciated?

Saw a similar post and have confirmed this was caused by APC's v6 PowerChute
software Grrrr. Now fixed.
