W2K License Server not found

I have a W2K license server running that is also a DC. It has been
correctly reactivated a couple of times but, immediately after
successful reactivation over the web, the System event log will contain
a warning, TermServLicensing 18, stating that the license server has not
been activated. If I open Term Serv Licensing, it searches for a license
server, then states that no license server is available in the current
domain or workgroup. If I connect specifically to the server, it shows
up as activated and I can see the licenses allocated. All of our clients
are W2K Pro.

On top of this, users occasionally get assigned temporary licenses that
expire after three months. There doesn't seem to be a pattern for this
and I can't figure out how to avoid this.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanx,
Garth

No, I have not tried un/reinstalling License Server from the box which
is running W2K. Does that cause any probs with reactivation?

Thanx for the quick reply...

What's the difference if it's not working. At the very worst you'd have to
call the Microsoft Clearinghouse.

Good point. However it does appear to be working, sort-of, since it does
hand out licenses to most of the workstations. I'll reinstall LS and see
what happens.

Thanx,
Garth
