I have a w2k server I wan tto put on my Lan, there are no
servers on this lan just w2k workstations, I have a
Router bringing in a DSL 2megabit line Not the CLient PCs
are configured with the DNS of the ISP (they have static
Ips) the router has an IP of 10.50.10.1 thus its the
gateway.
Now when I install this server what I ps should I give
it? 10.50.10.2 with a gateway of 10.50.10.1 and the ISPs
DNS? And more importantly if I install another server
what should be the DNS IPs and the Gateway IP, I heard
that the DNS and Gateay should point to the first DC...
PLEASE Help me out here thanks.

Give it a static IP address inline with the range of IP addresses used on
your LAN. It does not necessarily have to be 10.50.10.2. But you can use it.
What range are you using on your clients?

with a gateway of 10.50.10.1 and the

Use the DNS server's own IP address in the properties of TCP/IP for DNS.
Point all clients and servers to this DNS server only and configure this DNS
server to forward requests and list your ISP's DNS server as the forwarder.

And more importantly if I install another server

Assuming this second server is not a DNS server, point it to the first
server for DNS and point it to the router for the gateway.

Im using 10.50.10.100-200 for clients and 10.50.10.10-20
for Printers, what DNS numbers and Gateway IPs do the
servers get? same as clients?

All clients and servers on your AD domain MUST point to your AD DNS server.
They all should have the same gateway also. If a client requests *something*
that is not on your LAN, that request is sent to the default gateway. Your
gateway leads to the Internet.
