Using W2K Backup Program(NTBackup), I am attempting to
automate, or schedule a daily backup. When I go through
the choices, I specify to backup files on the local
machine and also files that are mapped to other servers.
I can see that everything is selected correctly (I think)
because when I open the job, it shows the drives I have
selected. The backup is scheduled to take place in the
middle of the night. However, it only backs up the files
on the local machine! What am I doing wrong? If I do the
backup manually, with the same criteria, it works fine.
The server on which the backup is occurring (to a tape
drive) is not locked (we log off the server) and the other
server's are also not locked (we are logged off). Any
help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Does the account you are using for the scheduled task have permanent drive
mappings for the network drives?

Check the Task Scheduler. You must run the job under
an account that has appropriate access rights to the shared
resource you're trying to back up. The System account has
no such rights.

A little confused now. When we go through the steps, it
asks for an account name and password to run under. We
entered in the Backup default user with the appropriate
password. Would this mean that it is running under the
Backup user, not the System user?
