W2K Backup and Tape media pools

I have a 4mm tape backup drive, and cannot figure out how to make a pool of tapes for the W2K Backup utility. I want to have a backup job scheduled every day, and to change tapes daily. The backup should fit on one tape. I 'Prepare' the new tapes in Computer Management, and they are in the 'Free' pool, but the scheduled job won't use them. Any suggestions?
