When uppgrading my computer with a new motherboard and a
new processor, the manual for the MB recommend to disable
support for hyperthreading in BIOS unless you run Win XP.
Can anyone explain why W2K cant cope? And how will this
affect the overall performance of my new processor?

The answer is the same as the other eight thousand times
this question has been asked and answered.
Go here:

and search for Win2K hyperthreading or Win2K HT or
something similar.
