W2000 TS - Disconnected communication port

Update

We've been having problem with Terminal server users not
able to log in to the TS after a windows update.
I get even id: 55 TermService, attempt to send a message
to a disconnected communication port.

I discovered that the Hotfix KB840987 is causing the
problem. Uninstalling this hotfix solves the problem, but
I need help to make it work with the hotfix installed.

I'd suggest that you report the problem with the hotfix to PSS, so it can be
properly logged and researched. If it's an undocumented problem you will not
be charged for the call.
