w2000 shutdown after update last night

Need help with company Dell P4, worked fine last night, checked email, went
into company intranet for about 5 minutes, have setup W2K to do automatic
update.Downloaded and installed, shutdown machine and then tonight went to
start machine. Gets as far as mini screen which says "Please wait...Windows
is starting......" and then freezes. Any others have this happen after
latest batch of fixes??

Swing over to microsoft.public.win2000.windows_update and read up. Fixes
are being addressed there too.
