The administrator password for a Win2000 PC is the password
that the person entered who initially loaded Win2000. Many
people make it a blank, or "password".
The usual way to resolve this problem is to log on under the
alternative admin account that good administrators create
when first loading a Win2000 PC. You can then reset the
password of the main admin account.
Thanks Pegasus - I have tried blank, password and all the passwords I can think of. Unfortunately I didn't install W2K. I dont know how to log in under an alternative admin password as you mention - how do I do that? Also, I believe theres a way to bypass the use of a password/log on altogether? (Im not concerned about anyone else using this comp)

I started Windows 2000 and didn'g use a name for
administrator. I believe the computer put in "NEW"
It worked fine until I try to set up "user"
I now have to sigh in as administrator.
How do I proceed?
Many thanks@
