A client of mine installed (or tried to) EZ Antivirus and Firewall (FREE
from Road Runner). He got a vsinit.dll error. The problems he began having
are - nothing in add/remove (not sure if that is related), some websites are
blank, windows update is blank (autoupdate works though). By blank I mean
that when I type the url I get a 'Done' in the bottom left corner, but their
is nothing there.
I tried to install ZoneAlarm (which it turns out is the same product) and
got the same error.
I followed the ZoneAlarm instructions to manually remove it (from their
forum).
Do I need to add vsinit.dll back (a new copy) or what do I do to get his
internet back?
I ran Spybot S&D and cleaned out 15 items, ran TrendMicro Sysclean and found
no viruses.
