VPN

Windows XP_Pro boxes can VPN into our network,
authenticate and access files. A Windows 2000Pro box can
VPN and authenticate however cannot access files.
Authentication is on a WINNT4.0 server and the files to
be accessed are on a Windows2003 Server all in the same
domain. Why? Thanks for any suggestions.

Windows XP has an improved version of credentials manager, which includes
your domain name and password with requests going over the VPN connection.

W2k proably sends the users local login credentials, which are not valid
on the domain.

On the W2k client, try using the "login using dialup connection" option,
so that the client does a domain login at connection time.
